I’m a passionate home-chef and your new internet bestie when it comes to Dominican recipes, Cuban recipes, Latin-inspired dishes, and Caribbean flavors! My father is from Havana, Cuba and my mom is from The Dominican Republic. I was born and raised in Queens, NY where food from around the world collides – in a good way! I’m currently enjoying life on the east end of Long Island exploring the vast farms and vineyards that this area has to offer. I’m always thinking about my next meal, and drawing inspiration from my childhood. Whether you’re learning how to cook or looking to sharpen your skills, grab a seat and stay a while. - My mom hates cooking! I learned how to cook from my grandmother at a very young age, which helped shape my palette. It also instilled my love for traditional Cuban and Dominican cuisine
- I was once a professional cake decorator! I have hidden talents… baking and cake decorating is one of them!
- I fiercely dislike pickles but I LOVE them in a Cuban Sandwich!
- I graduated from Syracuse University with a degree in TV Production and Screenwriting. Maybe one day I’ll publish my epic series. Until then, food blogging will be my visual storytelling medium
- My first name starts with an X and my last name begins with a Z. Whether you’re calling me by my first name or last name, all of my nicknames end up as Zee
